Violence is infrequent (save for small moments such as a nightmare main character Clare has) but grief is a major topic, and we understand how it affects those who experience it. We see a man's nude buttocks and hear references to masturbation, group sex, body parts, and other iffy topics. Sexual content includes casual sex with noises and suggestive movements. This is an emotional and true-to-life series with characters who are complicated but who strive to support each other and become better, kinder people.

If it garners enough of an audience, there’s a possibility that a second season could be in the cards. Strayed said she and executive producer/showrunner Liz Tigelaar would both love to keep doing the show and that the “book offers so many more columns and opportunities for stories.” Not to mention, at the time of writing, it’s been less than a week since the series premiered. And, while the finale doesn’t tie up all its ends, the show wasn’t meant to run past eight episodes.īut, never say never. This may have to do in part with the fact that it was originally billed as a limited series.
